Erin Gibson (Throwing Shade, Gay of Thrones) stops by to talk about her forthcoming tome, Feminasty: The Complicated Woman's Guide to Surviving the Patriarchy Without Drinking Herself To Death. I loved this book. It's as informative as a textbook but as readable and hilarious as a memoir which is quite a feat. We talked about the writing process, how Erin became a font of info, the book she originally set out to write, her DIY divorce from her first husband, being aware of inequality from a young age, how she and her Throwing Shade cohost Bryan Safi met, dealing with haters, Susan Faludi's Backlash and Gail Collins's America's Women, dating older men but marrying a younger man, being the guardians of her husband's brother who has Down's Syndrome, cosmetic companies owned by women, getting kicked out of Olive Garden, her experience of the Throwing Shade TV show and so much more.
